Netflix greenlights Stranger Things prequel ‘Other Worlds’ for 2028
Netflix has ordered Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure to series, announcing it on Stranger Things Day (November 6). The live-action prequel is set in 1955 in the fictional town of Marion, Nevada — decades before Hawkins, and before the stage play The First Shadow. It’s co-created by the Duffer Brothers and longtime writer Kate Trefry, who will showrun. Joe Wright directs the first three episodes. Filming is planned in New Mexico, with a 2028 debut. It’s now the fourth project in the Stranger Things universe, after the original series, the animated Tales from ’85, and the stage show. Fans are already splitting: more of the world they love, or a franchise that should have stayed finished?
