Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi has won the 2026 MLS Golden Boot after scoring a league-high 26 goals in 31 matches. He is the first player in MLS history to take the award in consecutive seasons.
He finished four clear of FC Dallas forward Petar Musa (22 goals), with Nashville SC’s Sam Surridge third on 21. Messi scored 29 times last season. Only one of this year’s 26 came from the penalty spot, and he led the league with 43 goal contributions.
The award was locked up on Decision Day, even though Messi did not score as Inter Miami drew 3-3 with Charlotte after giving up a 3-0 lead. The defending champions still finished second in the Eastern Conference and secured home-field advantage for the first two playoff rounds.
Luka drops 53 as Lakers edge Blazers 124–118 — and he’s averaging 40 a night
Luka Dončić scored a season-high 53 points Friday night, carrying the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124–118 win over the Portland Trail Blazers at Crypto.com Arena.
It was his second 50-point game of the season and his 11th career. Through nine games he’s averaging 40.1 points — territory only Wilt Chamberlain has held for a full season since 1962–63.
Dončić sealed it with a jumper with 28 seconds left after a late Portland push. Austin Reaves added 25. The Lakers (8–2) are on a four-game win streak and sit atop the West after LeBron James’ offseason move to Philadelphia left Luka as the clear face of the franchise.
We've been making some pretty big changes to PikkPoll lately, and it's starting to look and feel a lot closer to what we've always wanted it to be.
A completely redesigned polling experience
The biggest change is our new PollCard design.
On mobile, polls are now more visual and immersive, with larger images, clearer questions, and voting options that are easier to read and tap.
On desktop, we've taken a different approach: a cleaner, more spacious layout that makes it easier to explore questions, compare results, and join discussions.
We've also redesigned individual poll pages, while keeping Browse compact for people who prefer discovering multiple topics quickly.
Conversations are getting better
Comments are now easier to discover and participate in. Desktop polls show recent comments directly in the feed, with an option to add your own opinion without leaving the page.
We've also added an emoji picker for desktop comments and improved how full conversations open and display.
A smoother experience for new users
We've improved our sign-up experience and added a personal welcome email from our founder, Jani.
We're also keeping poll questions and answer options shorter and clearer, making polls easier to understand at a glance.
What's next?
We're working toward the bigger picture: a place where you can discover what people think, vote on the topics that matter to you, and explore the conversations behind the results.
We're also preparing for the next stage of PikkPoll, including better discoverability, more content, and eventually our mobile apps.
There's still a lot to build, but we're getting there.
Thanks to everyone who's been following along, testing things out, or sharing feedback.
Everyone has an opinion.

Tesla will wind down Cybertruck production at Gigafactory Texas around the middle of 2027. Elon Musk announced it in a short post on X on Friday, saying the space is needed to build more Cybercabs.
The Cybercab is Tesla's two-seat robotaxi with no steering wheel or pedals. It went into production at the same Texas plant in April, and paid rides started in Austin in September.
The Cybertruck never got close to its original plan. The line was set up for about 125,000 trucks a year, but fewer than 30,000 sold in 2025, according to WardsAuto data cited by Morningstar. It also had several recalls along the way.
Musk didn't say whether the truck will be built anywhere else or what happens to open orders. Fans are calling it the end of an era, and critics are calling it the end of a flop. Either way, the most divisive car of the decade has an end date.
Netflix has ordered Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure to series, announcing it on Stranger Things Day (November 6).
The live-action prequel is set in 1955 in the fictional town of Marion, Nevada — decades before Hawkins, and before the stage play The First Shadow. It’s co-created by the Duffer Brothers and longtime writer Kate Trefry, who will showrun. Joe Wright directs the first three episodes. Filming is planned in New Mexico, with a 2028 debut.
It’s now the fourth project in the Stranger Things universe, after the original series, the animated Tales from ’85, and the stage show. Fans are already splitting: more of the world they love, or a franchise that should have stayed finished?
Cristiano Ronaldo has retired from the Portugal national team. He announced it in an Instagram video on Thursday, 5 November: "To the Portuguese people, the day has come for me to hand back the number seven shirt of our national team."
The 41-year-old leaves with 146 goals in 234 appearances. Both are world records for men's international football. He made his debut in 2003 and won Euro 2016 with Portugal.
The decision comes after a public fall-out with Portugal coach Jorge Jesus. Ronaldo walked out of the national team camp in September after he was told he would not start the Nations League match against Denmark. He was then suspended from international duty and fined. The Portuguese federation has thanked him and says it plans a tribute where fans can "applaud and celebrate" him.
This is not the end of his career. Ronaldo is still playing club football at Al Nassr. In August he said the current Saudi Pro League season is "probably my last year of football". His contract runs until June 2027.
Liverpool's perfect Champions League start is over. Fenerbahçe came from behind twice on Wednesday night to win 3-2 in Istanbul, which is Liverpool's first European defeat this season, halfway through the league phase.
Trey Nyoni, 19, scored first for Liverpool, and Alexander Isak headed them back in front off the bench in the 69th minute. Neither lead lasted more than about four minutes. All three Fenerbahçe goals came from set pieces, with Vedat Muriqi's header in the 79th minute deciding it.
There's a twist on the other bench. Fenerbahçe's interim coach is Dirk Kuyt, a former Liverpool player, and this was his side's first win of the campaign. BBC Sport notes it's also the latest Liverpool have ever led in a major European game and still lost.
Andoni Iraola called the goals "cheap" and "messy." So was this a bad night, or a defensive problem Liverpool need to fix?

Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part 1 opens in cinemas worldwide today, November 5. Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita and Yash plays Ravana. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman.
The cost is what most people are talking about. Producers say the two-part project costs about ₹4,000 crore (roughly $420–500 million) once post-production and global promotion are counted. That figure covers both films. Industry reports put Part 1 at about ₹2,000 crore, but the makers have not confirmed a standalone budget.
Demand looks strong before opening day. As of the November 4 morning update, Indian pre-sales reached about ₹96.6 crore gross including blocked seats, according to Sacnilk figures reported by The Times of India. In the US, paid-preview bookings have passed $1.2 million.
The film runs 195 minutes. It is out in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, with an English version for international audiences and IMAX screenings. A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer wrote the music. Part 2 is expected around Diwali 2028.
Now it has to earn the budget back. India Today puts the break-even point at around ₹5,000 crore, but that is an estimate, not a confirmed number. The opening weekend will show whether this kind of spending works outside Hollywood.
